RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Semion Zhutovsky is the head of the Laboratory of Alternative Binders. His main research interests include High-Performance Concrete, Internal Curing, Shrinkage and Cracking of Concrete, Early-Age Properties of Concrete, Durability and Sustainability of Cementitious Materials, Sulfate Attack in Cementitious Materials, Supplementary Cementitious Materials and Alternative Binders, Behavior of Cement Paste, Mortar and Concrete under Extremely High Hydrostatic Pressure.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Semion Zhutovsky joined the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering in October 2016. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 2013. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree he continued to work in National Building Research Institute as a researcher. In 2014-2016 he continued his research and teaching work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada.
